Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Resume by Rework ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.

2. Description of Service

Resume by Rework provides AI-powered tools to help job seekers optimize their resumes, analyze job postings, generate cover letters, and track job applications. Our services include:

  • Resume parsing and analysis
  • Job posting compatibility scoring
  • ATS optimization suggestions
  • Cover letter generation
  • Application tracking
  • Performance analytics

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you submit to the Service, including resumes and personal information. By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to process and analyze your content solely for providing our services.

You represent that you have the right to share any content you submit and that it does not violate any third party's rights.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Submit false or misleading information
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Use automated tools to access the Service without permission
  • Resell or redistribute our services without authorization

6. AI-Generated Content

Our Service uses artificial intelligence to generate suggestions and content. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all suggestions before use. We do not guarantee that AI-generated content will result in job offers or interviews.

7. Subscription and Pricing

We offer various subscription plans with different features and usage limits. By subscribing to a paid plan:

  • You agree to pay all applicable fees as described at the time of purchase
  • Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
  • Prices may change with 30 days advance notice
  • Unused credits or features do not roll over to the next billing period
  • You are responsible for any taxes associated with your subscription

8. Refund Policy

We offer a limited refund policy under the following conditions:

  • 14-Day Refund Window: Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of purchase
  • Single Service Usage: Refunds are only available if you have used ONE service type (e.g., only Job Analysis OR only Resume Tailoring)
  • No Refund for Multiple Services: If you have used more than one service type, no refund will be issued as you have received substantial value from the subscription
  • Usage Verification: We will verify your usage history before processing any refund request

Service types include: Job Analysis, Resume Tailoring, Cover Letter Generation, and Interview Practice. Using any combination of two or more of these services disqualifies you from receiving a refund.

To request a refund, contact support@resume.remote-works.io within 14 days of your purchase with your account email and reason for the request.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

  • Resume by Rework is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied
  • We disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
  • We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses
  • We make no guarantees regarding employment outcomes, job offers, interviews, or career advancement

IN NO EVENT SHALL RESUME BY REWORK, ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
  • Damages resulting from your use or inability to use the Service
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100 CAD, WHICHEVER IS LESS.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Resume by Rework and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

11. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be:

  • Governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles
  • Resolved through binding arbitration in Toronto, Ontario, unless you opt out within 30 days of account creation
  • Brought only in your individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative proceeding

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
